The young-at-heart, masculine Maruti Suzuki SX4
The sporty and feisty Maruti Suzuki SX4 is the second international offering by Maruti after the Swift. It was launched at a time when Maruti Baleno was slowly moving out from the car market scene.
It is A3 premium segment sedan competing against Chevrolet Aveo, Ford Fiesta, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna. Available in two variants - the Vxi and the Zxi – the SX4 flaunts features which are offered in cars that cost a good one lakh more.
The bold, macho exteriors styled along European design, it takes a unique trapezium shape with a large wheel base. The interiors too are extremely roomy and comfortable with luxurious leg space and seating for five people.
The car derives its power from latest and efficient 1.6-litre M-Series engine that delivering a generous power of 102 BHP of power. Other impressive features include:
- Independent suspension system
- Anti Lock Braking System (ABS)
- Matching color bumper
- Electrically adjustable outside mirrors
- Fine quality fabric seats
- Power windows
- Rear seat center armrest and adjustable head rests in the front and rear seats
Tips for safe driving
- Follow traffic safely rules. As a responsible driver it is your duty to abide by traffic rules
- Seats belts are imperative. Seat belts are safety devices meant to protect, so it is a must for the driver and the other person sitting in the front seat
- Say no to cell phones while driving. They not only distract your attention, but veer your concentration and the result could be dangerous
- Keep a safe distance of at least 3 feet from the vehicle in front of you
- Don’t blast music. It diverts your attention and leads to accidents.
- Drive within speed limits. Over speeding and reckless driving won’t get you anywhere … except probably the hospital.
- Take frequent breaks on long journeys. Stop every 2 hours for 15 minutes and refresh yourself before proceeding.
- Don’t drink and drive. It’s a lethal combination that can jeopardize you and your family
Night driving is a challenge. Dazzling lights from approaching vehicles could blur your vision. So make sure your driving skills are sharp before you venture out into the night- Be alert – always. Don’t take your eyes off the road, at any point of time. Even a split second diversion could cause an accident
