Audi R8 - all set to Blaze Indian Roads!

Audi R8When it comes to the finest car engineering, technical precision and performance pushed to the edge, the Audi R8 is your answer.

This all-aluminium lightweight Audi features the legendary Quattro all-wheel drive system with a mid-mounted petrol 4.2-litre V8 FSI engine that generates 414bhp. At 1560 Kg, the Audi R8 is a mean machine that can reach a top speed of 301 kmph, it takes just 4.4 seconds to hit 100 km/hr.

It takes 70 workers who fit 5000 unique parts by hand to put this German beauty together and only 15 R8s are made in the factory each day. It is inspected by 95 lasers in just 5 seconds, which verify 220 parameters for precision.

The Audi R8 has achieved the double distinction of winning the World Performance Car award for its exceptional balance, refinement and control; and the World Car Design of the Year award for its striking, original design at the 2008 World Car of the Year awards.

The Audi R8 is likely to hit Indian roads in 2009. If you are thinking of buying it, all you need is just Rs.117 followed by five zeroes. Well, one can always test drive. How about that?

Tips to Maintain your Two-wheeler

Maintain your two-wheelerRegular maintenance of your motorcycle will not only keep it in great shape but can also save you some unpleasant surprises on the road. Apart from regular checks, make sure your two-wheeler is serviced at an authorized service centre.

Tyres - The most common reason of two-wheeler breakdowns is tyre failure. Check tyre condition regularly and make sure they have optimum air pressure.

Engine Oil - Maintain the correct level of engine oil and check daily for oil leakage. When you check for oil level, make sure the dipstick reading is closer to the maximum level. Change engine oil at regular intervals as recommended by manufacturer.

Battery - Check your two-wheeler battery once a month for leakage and top it up with distilled water to ensure a long battery life.

Spark Plug - Keep the spark plug clean and use emery paper to clean the spark points. Check it every 750 km for two-stroke bikes and every 1,500 km for four-stroke bikes.

Brakes - Most Indian bikes come with disc brakes which have a fluid reservoir. Replace brake fluid every one to two years. For disc brakes, check the thickness of the brake pads. If the pads are allowed to wear out down to the metal, it could cost you an expensive replacement. Adjust the brakes for optimum braking and check the free play of the levers.
