According to an article published in December, 2013 in the Business Standard, carmakers see great possibility of growth and expansion in the Indian car market. Leading brands have planned to launch different types of cars in India in 2014. We bring to you a list of the few upcoming cars that are ready for launch in India in 2014.
Let’s take a look at some of the top models of car brands to be launched in 2014.
Fiat Linea Facelift
After the launch of the ‘Classic’ sedan car in the Indian auto market, Fiat India is ready to bring the facelifted version of the Linea cars. The company is expected to introduce this version at the Indian Auto Expo, 2014. The car will come with lots of chrome on its exterior. The rear number plate will be positioned at the bootlid, which would make the car look more modern and stylish. The interior of the car too will see some changes. It will have an upmarket dashboard and a central console for providing better driving experience. This car model will be run on a bigger 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engine that gives power of 103.5bhp.
Hyundai Compact Saloon (Grand i10 based)
This compact saloon version from Hyundai has already been tested on the Indian roads. This means that it will soon be making its debut in the showrooms. It is expected to be unveiled in 2014 Indian Auto Expo and may be launched be the festive season. It will be made available both in diesel and petrol engine versions and will also share the interior components and styling cues from Grand i10 sedan.
Mercedes-Benz India is all ready to introduce its flagship model called the S Class in the Indian car market at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. This new model will feature a host of luxurious, safety and technologically advanced features. It can undoubtedly be the right choice for the business class car buyers. This model will be available in two engine options – a 3-litre V6 diesel and 5.5-litre bi-turbo with an AMG tag. Both the versions will be mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai ELantra Facelift
The facelift version of Hyundai Elantra sedan is expected to hit the Indian roads by the mid of 2014. The buzz is that Hyundai has planned to launch this premium sedan model inspired by two recent launches – Skoda Octavia and Chevrolet Cruze. The new Hyundai ELantra Facelift will come with improved looks and advanced features. Some expected features of the new model include 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, radiator grille, new front bumper, projection headlamps and LED light guide.
Maruti Suzuki YL1 sedan
As the sales of Maruti Suzuki SX4 failed to hit expectations, the Maruti Suzuki India Limited, which is a subsidiary of Japanese automaker Suzuki, has now planned to replace the SX4 model with a new model – Maruti Suzuki YL1. The company is planning to launch the new model at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The new model is expected to come with some new features and a stunning look in 2014.
