What is Coronavirus?
Coronavirus is a family of viruses that originally affects animals, but due to increased exposure to animal meat, seafood, and dairy products, these viruses have made a transition to humans as well.
Common cold, fever, and tiredness are the early symptoms in the infected person. It spreads through infected people coughing and sneezing, by touching an infected person’s hands or face, or by touching things such as doorknobs that infected people have touched. The disease is not new to humans, and several Coronavirus cases have been detected since the year 2002 with more than 1500 deaths accounting to them. The disease is associated with two syndromes, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory syndrome (MERS).
SARS is known to have travelled from civet cats to humans, and MERS comes from Camels. In total, 7 different types of coronaviruses have been known to infect humans, including the new Wuhan Coronavirus, also named as 2019-nCoV or Novel Coronavirus. However, the Wuhan virus remains the newest of them all and very little is known about it. Recent researches have confirmed that human to human transmission of the disease is also possible.

Treatment of Coronavirus

- * Take pain killers if required.
- * Increase fluid intake to flush out the mucous.
- * Take plenty of rest and avoid contact with others.
As preventive measures, the following steps can also be taken:
- * Wash hands thoroughly after coming back home from outdoors or after doing any work that makes your hands dirty.
- * Avoid contact with infected people.
- * Always cover your face when you sneeze or cough and then wash hands.
