Feed your immune system with the right food

The wonders of garlic – The sulphur containing compound in garlic makes for powerful immune boosters that stimulates the multiplication of infection-fighting white cells, increases natural killer cell activity, and increases the efficiency of antibody production.

Keep stress away – Stress can have a negative effect on our immune system. A body subjected to stress releases chemicals like cytokines, cortisol and adrenaline that affect our immune function and general health. Learn to relax and be calm. Anxiety has an adverse effect inhibiting natural killer-cell activity.

Some more simple ways to improve immunity

Work out – Any form of exercise will do. Even walking is enough to keep your system running and kick up your metabolism. Exercise is vital for boosting the immune function as this will increase blood-flow and, thereby, accelerate the movement of immune cells around the body.

A good rest – Get a good night’s sleep. At least 6 hours of sleep is required to improve and build your immunity. A sleep deprived body results in a sluggish system.

Listen to music – Music is known to be a powerful immunity booster. Listening to soulful music can have a soothing effect on tired nerves and stressed minds.
