Everyone wants to have a home that is not just beautiful but also gives out positive vibes and is welcoming. Gone are the days when they relied on inputs from only the Architect and interior decorator, today there is a Feng Shui consultant also involved.
Talking to home owner Prabhakar, who has complete faith in Feng Shui, we learnt about how Feng Shui house is a house where all objects are in perfect harmony with each other. This could be with respect to the colours, curio items, furniture and even the mirrors placed around the space. He says Feng Shui is about balancing energies, of animate with the inanimate, so positive energy flows freely.
For people like him, Feng Shui is not just rearranging furniture or objects in the house or office, it is a religion. One that works wonders for the career, wealth, health and prosperity.
When walking into a designer boutique, the red flowers in the vase catch the eye. The owner, Kiran talks about how the store went through a transformation with Feng Shui. Red, a symbol of good luck can be placed around the house, or one could carry a piece of cloth with them as well.
Fresh plants adorn every corner, for which the explanation is wood and plants are used for wealth and family. In her cabin, one will find natural crystals and decorative items in orange and yellow, the reason being these aid in good healthy relationships and the small water fountain is to promote business.
The one aspect Feng Shui believers vouch upon is doing away with clutter, and making maximum use of the floor space. Chimes, butterflies, bamboo flutes are little items that could change the future of a space.
