Your bedroom is your most secluded personal space. Re-decorating it every now and then gives you a feel good factor. But this does not have to be an expensive affair each time. Just a little tweaking around will make a whole lot of difference. Here are some basic, fun and inexpensive ways to refurbish your bedroom –
1. If you wish to change the mood and approach of your bedroom, the easiest way to do this is by changing the colors of the wall. In case you’ve recently renovated your house and have leftover paint cans, use them or invest in a can of the hue you want. Search the internet for effective patterns that you can make on the wall. Even painting just one wall can make a big difference to your room.
2. Give the floor of your bedroom a character. This you can do by just throwing a rug or a carpet. What will make this more fun is if you try to make a rug with the help of some DIY projects. There’s nothing like a rug that you make with your own creativity to spell your personality. Adding a rug to your bedroom will give you a luxurious feel under your feet and bring out the highlights in your walls and ceiling.
3. The most essential part of your bedroom is, of course, your bed. There’s no need to go shopping for a new one or spend a good amount on the bedding. All you need to do is invest in a few sheets and pillow covers. Try and get ones that match with your walls. You can even buy some accent pillows to add to the comfort and coziness of your bed.
4. Give your room a character by adding artifacts or other creative utilities or show pieces. These could include wind chimes, a gauzy mosquito net over the bed, Diwali lights stuffed in a bottle (these work as great dim lights) etc. Also, you can add curtains to which you give your own touch of creativity to complete the look of your room.
Try to set a particular theme for your room like classic European, antique, contemporary etc. By implementing a few simple ideas you can give your personal haven a complete facelift.
