Pest control at home

Posted by Royal Sundaram on 15 Mar 2010

Fighting pests at home may at times can be quite a challenge. However, if you handle it the right way, you can tackle this problem quite easily.

Here are some simple home remedies to keep pests under control and drive them out of your homes.

To keep away ants that invade your counters, break up the line first and sprinkle some salt or baby powder across the line and you’ll find that the ants won’t cross it.

Although spiders are harmless creatures, many may not be comfortable with these creeping around. You could try scattering some hedge apples to repel them.

The best way to control mice attack is to use peppermint oil. Mice hate the smell! So you could either plant some in your garden or soak some cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them in areas where the mice are making their way indoors.

Pests can sneak through any small openings. So you must remember to seal the cracks and plug gaps and holes to let them from coming in.

Essential oils make great insect repellants. Moths dislike lavender, so you can put a few drops on cotton balls and leave in your drawers. Tea tree oil is good for detracting biting insects.
