SALE! SALE!! SALE!!! Dhamaka Offer!! Up to 75% off! It is that time of the year again when you go completely berserk shopping for clothes, household items and gifts for loved ones. After all this is the mega festival month and which Indian festival is complete without shopping?
Everything seems to be well within the reach, what with all the discounts and deals on offer. However, before you rush to the mall to loosen your purse strings or swipe your card, remember to shop smart. Here are a few tips for a happy shopping experience!
Check it online first – If laptops, handycams, mobile handsets are in your shopping list, make sure to compare the price at online shopping websites. You can evaluate different brands, features and the pricing with ease. Also, some of best deals can be found online, as the seller invests lesser than your retailer to set the shop and the benefits are ultimately passed on to you. But before you buy, ensure the credibility of the website.
Read the review of the product – This is the time when people also buy a new TV, computer, refrigerator, ACs (you might get the best deal for AC during the off season!), washing machine, cars, etc. Make sure you read reviews of the brand you intend to buy. Remember, a great ad doesn’t make a great product. Look for expert reviews or consumers who have used the brand. You’d be surprised how much you can learn about it!
Plan before you shop – It is a good idea to make a shopping list to keep away impulsive buying at bay. Once you have made a shopping list, make sure you prioritize it. Have a “want vs. need debate”. Once you’ve decided on what to buy, group together the shopping, wherever you can…to save additional trips.
And once you have filled your home with all the new goodies…it’s not a bad idea to buy an insurance policy as well! The last thing you want to spoil your festive mood is an unexpected fire or your loved one admitted to the hospital. While you cannot always shape tomorrow, you can certainly secure it today, when it comes to the financial aspect of it.
Have a great celebration, and before that, have a great time shopping!
