Indus Hospital

Indus Hospital is a 90-bedded hospital set amidst the sylvan surroundings of hill town Shimla. The hospital is a self-supporting, no-profit no-loss unit, established by Dr. Balak R.Verma as an act of philanthropy. Dr. Verma currently serves as Medical Missionary and serves the hospital on a pro bono basis. The hospital is governed by the Indus Medical Foundation under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, in India. The hospital offers clinical services, out-patient and in-patient services as well as executive health check-ups. 

The hospital has dedicated departments for general internal medicine, paediatrics and adolescent medicine, 24 hours emergency services, cardiopulmonary clinic, intensive and critical care services, anaesthesiology and inhalation therapy, general surgery and endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, oncological surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, urological surgery, dentistry and oral surgery. The hospital runs diagnostic services through its department of radio diagnosis and imaging, undertakes non-invasive cardiopulmonary laboratory and provides laboratory services such as radio diagnosis and ultra sonography, whole body ct scanning and MRI scanning, USG and CT guided procedures, double contrast x-rays, special radiography, mammography and conventional radiography. 

Indus Hospital is now a network hospital of Royal Sundaram which is an insurance company that offers comprehensive health care plans and health insurance options. A health insurance policy is an important financial safety net in case of sudden medical treatments. In case of hospitalization due to an accident, the insured can claim up to an additional 50 percent of the sum insured and insured individuals can also get cumulative bonus ranging from 5 to 50 percent for every claim-free year. Royal Sundaram has several health insurance plans with different premium options that cover pre and post hospitalization expenses, 147-day care procedures, maternity expenses and are tax-exempt under section 80 (D).
