If you need to make a claim under Home Content Insurance, here's a step-by-step guide:
 

1. Request a Claim Form 

  • To request for a claim form, call us at 1860 425 0000. You can also send an email to customer.services@royalsundaram.in at the earliest, Please quote the Policy Number for our reference. We will mail you the Claim Form within 2 working days or you can download the claim form from our website
  • You can also notify your claim online. Once you notify the claim our claims team will contact you to explain the procedure.

2. Submitting the claim form 


Once you get the claim form on hand, please fill-in the form and send it to us, along with the following documents to support your claim to the below mentioned address

Claims process for breakdown/damage of Home Content
  • Send us the duly-filled Claim Form along with a rough estimate of the repairs which needs to be done. Please do not undertake any repairs at this stage, or we may be unable to accept your claim.
  • Once we receive the Claim Form and supporting documents from your end, we will send a Surveyor to your home to evaluate the damage.
  • The Surveyor will advice us after assessing the damage. Based on their input, we will accept your claim.
  • You may undertake the repair. The Surveyor will re-visit your home on completion and submit a detailed report to us about the repairs.
  • You can forward filled in Claim form along with the bills and receipts of the repairs. 

We may request you for additional documents to support your Claim.

Once we receive the Bills and Receipts, we will calculate the Net Liability, based on the Surveyor's recommendations and applicable deductibles for the claim (such as depreciation, excess, salvage, etc)


If your claim is admissible, we will mail you a cheque. If for any reason, we are unable to clear your claim, we will send you a detailed repudiation letter.

All claims are processed as per the Terms and Conditions of your Policy.
 
Claims process for fire accidents
  • A Surveyor, appointed by us, will visit your home to evaluate the damage and repairs which needs to be done and accordingly give a go-ahead for it. Please do not undertake any repairs before Surveyor assesses your home, or we may be unable to accept your Claim.
  • The Surveyor will re-visit your home to check the completion of work. You can submit the Claim Form, Fire Brigade Report, Bills and Receipts to the Surveyor, along with any additional documents requested to facilitate your Claim.
  • The Surveyor will send a detailed report to us, depending on the documents you submit.
  • We may request you for additional documents to support your Claim.
  • If your Claim is admissible, we will calculate the Net Liability, based on the Surveyor's recommendations and applicable deductibles for the claim (such as depreciation, excess, salvage, etc)

If your claim is approved, we will mail you a cheque. If for any reason, we are unable to clear your claim, we will send you a detailed repudiation letter.

Claims process for burglary
  • File an FIR (First Information Report) regarding the burglary at a Police Station, as soon as possible.
  • We will send a Third Party Investigator to carry forward the Claims process. The person will meet you collect information/records. You can inform the person elaborately about the items stolen.
  • Obtain a Non Traceable Certificate from the Police Station (roughly 10 days from the date of filing an FIR).
  • Send us the duly-filled Claim Form along with the details of items stolen and the Non Traceable Certificate. We may request you for additional documents to support your Claim.

If your claim is approved, we will mail you a cheque. If for any reason, we are unable to clear your claim, we will send you a detailed repudiation letter.

All claims are processed as per the Terms and Conditions of your Policy.
