Road Trip Checklist

The time for vacation has arrived and you might be wishing to pack your stuff, get your friends or family members, and hit the road. Planning a road-trip can be an exhaustive ordeal, but we are here to help you with a smart checklist that will make tasks simple:
 
Checking the Car
 

• Check Engine oil
• Ensure battery level is optimum
• Check car coolant
• Check tyres, fuel lines, brakes, and get the car serviced
• Keep spare tires
• Check the car insurance policy, papers, and PUC

 
Packing the Accessories
 

• Carry GPS device and maps
• Carry a torch and toolkit 
• Carry first aid kit, medicines, antiseptics, ice packs, motion sickness remedies
• and generic pain killers

 
Packing Personal Items
 

• Carry toiletries, tissue papers, and prescribed medication
• Pack a few packets of snacks, biscuits, and soft drinks
• Carry at least 1 water bottle per person
• Carry your iPod, MP3 player, or DVDs for entertainment
• Make sure to keep blankets and pillows for multi-day road trip
• Keep insect repellent and mosquito nets if you are planning to camp

 
What not to Forget
 

• Ensure that your mobile phone is fully charged
• Maintain sufficient amount of calling balance
• Carry extra sets of home and car keys
• Inform your friends, neighbours, or other kin about the road trip
• Carry sufficient amount of cash
• Confirm your hotel bookings
• Secure your home before leaving
