Tata Motors launched a premium sub-4 metre sedan in 2014 called the Tata Zest. The largest and the most spacious sedan in its segment, the Zest comes loaded with 29 best-in-class features. With both petrol and diesel versions, it is one of the first cars in its segment to have an AMT gearbox in a diesel variant. It is also the safest sedan in its class. The Zest’s dual airbag variant has been awarded four stars in a crash test by the Global New Car Assessment Program.

 

The Zest is available in six vibrant and unique colors – Venetian Red, Pristine White, Buzz Blue, Platinum Silver, Dune Beige, and Sky Grey. With the Zest being called the best designed Tata sedan till date, Tata Motors is said to have created a space for itself in the stylish, sporty and good looking cars.

The Tata Zest comes in a total of 11 variants – 4 petrol and 7 diesel-based. The Zest has an AMT gearbox with a diesel variant making it the cheapest diesel automatic sedan. The Zest Premio is a special edition variant launched with a few cosmetic changes and a touchscreen phone based navigation.

ENGINE – The Zest gives you a power-packed performance with its 1.2L petrol engine and 1.3L diesel engine variants. The petrol Revotron triple cylinder engine provides a power of 90 bhp and a torque of 140Nm. The diesel-powered triple cylinder Quadrajet engine again has two variants -one gives a power of 75bhp and a torque of 190Nm; the second provides a power of 90bhp and a torque of 200Nm. It has a standard 5-speed gearbox across all its variants. However, the XMA diesel and XTA diesel variants have a 5 speed AMT.

 

EXTERIORS – Engineers, technicians, and designers across five countries worked tirelessly on the design direction called “Confident Dynamism” of Zest, which resulted in the creation of a unique exterior design. It has a company signature “Humanity Line” front grille, chrome-accented dual projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights for top variants, 15” alloy wheels, body colored ORVMs with turn lights and blinkers, and body colored bumpers. It has a stylish tail lamp cluster with the first-in-segment LED tail lamps.

 

INTERIORS – The interiors of the Zest are the most spacious in the price range. It boasts of extra legroom and shoulder room due to the enhanced wheelbase and best-in-class width. The interiors have a dual color tone of Latte and Java Black. The dashboard is stylish with a multi-functional display of seat belt reminder, in-gear indicator, door-open display, digital fuel gauge, etc. The interior also boasts of rear power windows, electric ORVMs, rear defogger for top-end models, fully automatic temperature control and more.

 

The Zest has a ConnectNEXT infotainment feature in all its variants with an immersive surround sound 8-speaker system. It has been revised with features like Android Auto, Apple Car Play, and Mirror Link. It also has a next-gen MapmyIndia application for navigation in top-end models.

 

SAFETY - The Zest has front disc brakes, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control, Speed dependent auto door lock, dual front airbags in top models, immobilizer for every variant, and a perimetric alarm system to safeguard against theft and robbery.
