TVS Apache RTR 160 Review

In 2007, a well-known brand, TVS Motors, launched a series of sporty-looking motorcycles in India, known as 'Apache.' Apache 160cc was the first bike from that range which was launched in the Indian market. The full form of 'RTR' is 'Racing Throttle Response.' All the bikes belonging to the RTR series are designed with a racing approach. In the instrument cluster, the RTR bikes come with a lap timer. It also has a section for showing the last three 0-60 kmph timings to give it a track ride feel. To add to the benefits and uniqueness, Apache is the first motorcycle in India to rock a petal disc brake. Recently, the brand TVS has adorned RTR 160 with 'Supermoto ABS,' which is a single-channel ABS. This further increases the bike's safety.

As the name suggests, a 160cc engine drives the Apache RTR 160. This is a single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The TVS Apache RTR is fitted with alloy wheels of 17-inch, 90mm in the front and section tires of 110mm at the rear. A travel of 105mm is fitted to the front forks, and the back follows a two-shock approach rather than a monoshock. The 160cc engine of the TVS Apache RTR 160 produces bold 15.2 bhp of power at over 8500 rpm and over 13.10 Nm torque at 4000 rpm. This bike comes mated with a five-speed gearbox. The TVS Apache RTR 160 is present in the market in 7 different color schemes, some of which come in matte color schemes. Vehicle registration is important because it provides proof of ownership for the vehicle. It is also mandatory under the law of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. RTO looks after the registration of every vehicle in India. To get the registration done, the owner has to pay the road tax. For a vehicle under Rs. 10 Lakh, the owner, is charged 12%, while a vehicle above Rs. 10 Lakh, the owner is charged 14%.
